Amateur Theatre Pricing:

Royalty Fee per performance: £50.00 (up to 150 capacity) / £65.00 (up to 250 capacity) / £75.00 (up to 500 capacity)

DVD Licence to film the performance for production/cast/crew purposes: £40.00

Script Printing: £5.95 per printed script

Electronic Master Script (Sent in PDF format): £40.00

Terms and Conditions

  1. You must apply for a show licence to perform any material protected by theatrescripts.co.uk. By applying for a licence, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. The licence applicant must be authorised (to apply for the licence and subsequently agrees to these terms and conditions) to do so on behalf of their group/society.
  3. A Licence must be obtained and granted before the commencement of any rehearsals or auditions. The licence must be printed and publically displayed during public performances.
  4. Scripts cannot be photocopied or scanned at any time. Physical Scripts must be ordered through www.theatrescripts.co.uk.
  5. Electronic Master Scripts - you can purchase an electronic master script in PDF format and print this document. When printing, this document must be printed in its entirety, with all pages included. The master script cannot be forwarded electronically to anyone, this includes cast and crew. The PDF material cannot be printed and posted, transmitted or distributed.
  6. All productions must be performed as per the script. If you would like to make a major cut, addition or alteration, you must obtain written permission from theatrescripts.co.uk – this permission will be stated on the show licence. Lines to include local references is not a major alteration.
  7. Performances and rehearsals cannot be filmed in part of full without prior written consent. The licensee remains responsible to obtain a DVD/Film licence from theatrescripts.co.uk – This includes all videos, including DVDs, social media videos.
  8. The licence does not cover use of any copyright music. It is the licensee’s responsibility to obtain permission for its use and pay any royalties arising from its performance.
  9. A royalty fee must be paid for all licences. A deposit is required to obtain the licence. All remaining fees are due no later than seven days after the final performance.
  10. If a licence is granted and the society cancels the performance, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. If you change your venue, dates or times, you must reapply for a new licence as the original licence will become null and void. theatrescripts.co.uk reserve the right to charge you an admin fee to reissue the licence.
  11. The licensee cannot sub-licence any rights to any production.
  12. All of our scripts are fully protected under international copyright laws. You can request to see evidence including copyright certificates through theatrescripts.co.uk. All rights, including performance, video recording and translation are protected. Scripts cannot be represented as your own
  13. The licensee is responsible for the manner in which the script is performed. This includes safety of cast, crew and audience, ensure no offence or damage is caused and compliance with regulations, legislation and child performing legislation.
  14. theatrescripts.co.uk reserve the right to attend any performance, whether private or public, unannounced to ensure the script is being followed and direction adhered to. A representative must be given two complimentary seats if available or granted permission to enter backstage areas. The representatives will show identification and if going backstage, in addition a DBS update service number for the licensee to check.
  15. If a society is found to have broken any items stated in the terms and conditions at any time, theatrescripts.co.uk have the right to halt any performance and cancel the licence, including any future performances, without refund. The remaining loyalty fees will not be cancelled and must be paid. theatrescripts.co.uk reserve the right to charge an additional suspension/cancellation fee of up to £2500.00
  16. All media and digital media, including posters, online posters, marketing posters and programmes must be stated: “By arrangement with theatrescripts.co.uk” in addition to the name of the author: “Written by Steven Oliver-Grant”
  17. Fees can be changed at any time for new licences or reissues of licences. Approved licences have fixed fees.
